Be sure to watch Glasgow vs Edinburgh online because this will be one matchup not to be missed.

Start Streaming

Date: Friday, 21 December

Kick-off: 19:35

Assistant referees: Andrew Mcmenemy (Scotland), Bob Nevins (Scotland)
Television match official: Jim Yuille (Scotland)

The wrangle over what is best to flavour your post-pub treat will continue long after this article has become digital chip wrappings. But for rugby fans, the annual battle to determine which city is king of the oval ball is about to kick off.
The 1872 Cup between the Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby is a celebration of the first meeting on the rugby pitch of Scotland’s greatest two cities 140 years ago.
The matches are, simply, RaboDirect Pro 12 league fixtures, but the winner of the two ties on aggregate will also take away the trophy. The games are also an opportunity for future Scotland stars to impress national coaches and fans alike.
But forget all that. Behind all the rugby professionalism is the tribalism of two teams and their fans that are desperate to prove which city is best. But what if you come from one place, and play for the other?
Two players who may have a role in this year’s cup drama are Robert McAlpine, who is from Bearsden, and Fergus Scott, who calls the capital’s Currie home.
Edinburgh native Fergus is a hooker who is yet to make an appearance for the Warriors after signing on an Elite Development contract this summer.
For years, he has supported Edinburgh with the rest of his family. On Boxing Day last year, he stood on the sidelines and cheered for Edinburgh against Glasgow as his brother Matt, who plays for Edinburgh, made an appearance as a second-half substitute.
But this year, things have changed. The Scotland u-20s player is going to be cheering on his Glasgow teammates and - if he gets the opportunity - is ready to play his part to help them win.
“I would love to have a shot at playing against people I have known for a long time,” said Fergus.
“I would definitely be going out to play for the Glasgow jersey. It would be good to have a battle with my brother.
“When I used to go and watch the Edinburgh games, you never liked it when Glasgow went away with a win. But as you grow up, in a professional environment, your thoughts change and you are there to play rugby.”

Ulster vs Leinster Live Stream

Get ready to watch Ulster vs Leinster live streaming on Friday when the two sides meet for a great match. The fixture will take place in Belfast, on 21 December 2012 at 19:05 local, 19:05 GMT, 14:05 EST. It will be possible to watch Ulster vs Leinster online and see the game live from anywhere.

Start Streaming

Date: Friday, December 21
Kick-off: 19:05
Venue: Ravenhill
Referee: George Clancy (Ireland)
Assistant referees: Peter Fitzgibbon (Ireland), Olly Hodges (Ireland)
Television match official: Dermot Moloney (Ireland)

The squad comprises a mixture of youth and experience. Gordon D'Arcy has been named to partner Brendan Macken at centre.
Eoin Reddan is set to make his 74th appearance at scrum-half where he joins up with Ian Madigan. Returning to the back-row is Kevin McLaughlin, who will feature alongside fellow internationals Sean O'Brien and Jamie Heaslip.
Tighthead prop Michael Bent will make his second start for the province having been named alongside loosehead Cian Healy and hooker Sean Cronin in the front-row.
Adam Byrne has been named on the bench and is in line to make his senior bow after impressing with two tries for the British & Irish Cup side in last weekend's victory over Jersey. He features on a bench alongside the likes of Rhys Ruddock and Isaac Boss.
Meanwhile for Ulster, three personnel changes have been made by head coach Mark Anscombe. There have also been two positional switches to the side that lost to Northampton.
After Tommy Bowe's knee injury against Northampton last week, Andrew Trimble will switch to the right wing, with fellow Ireland international Craig Gilroy on the left. Luke Marshall is set to start at inside centre alongside Darren Cave with Paddy Wallace named on the bench.
Ruan Pienaar and Paddy Jackson will continue their half-back partnership, with full-back Jared Payne looking to add to his record of having scored five tries in nine games in the PRO12 so far this season.
In an unchanged front row John Afoa, Tom Court and Rory Best all start.
Second-row Dan Tuohy suffered a torn calf muscle against Northampton - therefore his place is taken by Neil McComb.

Cardiff Blues vs Scarlets Live Stream

On Friday December 21 watch Cardiff Blues vs Scarlets online and see a great Rugby fixture between two teams searching for a victory. The Cardiff Blues vs Scarlets live stream takes place at Cardiff Arms Park, 21 December 2012, 19:05 local, 19:05 GMT, 14:05 EST and all Rugby fans will be able to watch it all live right here!

Start Streaming

Date: Friday, December 21
Kick-off: 19:05
Venue: Cardiff Arms Park
Referee: Ian Davies (Wales)
Assistant referees: James Jones (Wales), Sean Brickell (Wales)
Television match official: Gareth Simmonds (Wales)

The Scarlets Welsh international back-rowers Aaron Shingler and Josh Turnbull are also fit for selection.
But hooker Ken Owens (ribs) has been ruled out of contention for this first Welsh derby of the festive season.
Davies' autumn Wales duties and injury absence means he has not played for his region since they lost 59-22 at Leinster in October.
Davies returns during fellow Wales lock Lou Reed's absence following a recent bereavement in Reed's family.
Wales centre Jamie Roberts and full-back Leigh Halfpenny remain on the sidelines with injury. Halfpenny is still being reviewed by specialists after he sustained a neck injury playing for Wales against Australia.
Roberts suffered and elbow hyperextension in the same match against Australia and is not expected back in action until mid January.
Michael Paterson (fractured finger), Chris Czeckaj (foot), Dan Fish (shoulder) and Tom James (fractured toe) are all sidelined due to injury.
Hooker Marc Breeze returns to action having recovered from a neck injury and concussion, picked up against the Montpellier in the Heineken Cup.
The Blues take on a Scarlets side whose four game winning run in the PRO12 came to a halt last time out with their 12-19 defeat to table-topping Ulster at Parc y Scarlets.
"The Scarlets are a very talented team with lots of quality individuals but also a talented unit," said Phil Davies, the Cardiff Blues directo of rugby.
"Over the last five years Nigel Davies did a great job developing the team and pushing them forward. Simon Easterby has now taken over the mantel and they are a very good side and well organised.
"They will be a tough team to beat, but we are at home and with a big crowd behind us, we can create a good atmosphere by delivering a top performance."
The Scarlets have won their last six encounters with the Blues in all competitions, whilst they have not visited the Arms Park since May 2008.
